12/23/2011 — XieYu Educational Foundation 10 years

May/4/2011 — The 10th aniversary of XieYu Education Foundation will be celebrated at Beijing Normal University. The committee board releases congratulation letter.

10/20/2010 — The 9th award ceremony of XieYu Education Foundation will be held in Beijing Normal University. Time: 3:30 pm - 5:00pm, location: Room 101, No. 8 teaching building. The three teaching teams supported by XieYu Education Foundation will report their teaching experience in NeiMeng, ShanXi and QingHai provinces. 12 undergraduate will be awarded with financial aid from XieYu Education Foundation.

9/26/2010 — XieYu Education Foundation held the second board meeting of year 2010. The board reviewed the reports of the three teaching teams supported by XieYu Education Foundation. Their reporots summarized their teaching experience in NeiMeng, ShanXi and QingHai provinces. The board approved the financial support to 12 undergraduates of Beijing Normal University. The board approved two cases of "Designated Donation Program".

4/2010 — The first board meeting of year 2010 made decision on how to use“Designated Donation Program”. The board made preparation for the project that support the teaching teams of summer 2010.

The board appointed Jiguang Bao as president，Qiang Zhang as CEO，Song Guo as CFO, Cheng Li as Secretary, Gang Feng as Chairman of Selection Committee.

2/16/2008 — The first board meeting of 2008 was held in Atlanta. All eleven board members attended the three-hour meeting through teleconference. The members discussed the current work and future plans, including topics on Donation Partner Program, the influence of the 2008 Beijing Olympics on the Educational Society Exploration programs, and the Special Hardship Assistantship. The meeting also re-elected new board officers: Huipin Zhang as President and Chief Executive Officer, Song Guo as Chief Financial Officer, Cheng Li as Secretary, Gang Feng as Chairman of the Selection Committee, Jiguang Bao as President and in charge of the administrative work in China. In addition, Changqing Yue was elected as a new board member. The board also approved board member Hong Zhang’s resignation.

10/24/2007 — The 2007 XYEF award ceremony was held at Beijing Normal University, Department of Mathematics. Faculty, students, board members and Professor Xie’s relatives attended the meeting. Board member Gang Feng reported the XYEF activities in 2008. Board member Jiguang Bao announced the recipients of the 2007 awards, including 10 students and three Educational Society Exploration teams (see below). The three teams reported their achievements of the exploration activities. The representative of the Student Financial Aid recipients, Qianqian Hou, also shared her experiences. The meeting concluded with the spirit of continuing spreading the unlimited love of Professor Xie to students, friends and colleagues.

Introduction to the Foundation

Xie Yu Education Foundation was founded in 2002 by a group of Beijing Normal University alumni to commemorate the late Professor Xie Yu and to promote education among Chinese communities as well as communities of other ethnic backgrounds, by means of helping needy students and encouraging students to understand the society outside campus. XYEF is registered in the State of Georgia as a non-profit organization with tax-exempt status approved by the Internal Revenue Services under 501(c)(3).
